My First Post

Welcome to my very first blog post! I am excited to embark on this journey with you, sharing my thoughts and experiences with the world. Writing has been a passion of mine since childhood, it has taken me on a wild ride, from writing for newspapers, blue-chip companies, and website start-ups and blogs to exploring different cultures and interviewing fascinating individuals. I feel like I've lived at least 5 lives to date, and I'm eager to share my adventures with you through this platform.

My journey in writing began at a young age, where I discovered my love for storytelling. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to write for various platforms, honing my craft and exploring different styles and mediums. Writing should never be boring, and I try to infuse each piece with creativity, personality, and humour.

One topic that I am particularly passionate about is football, especially Liverpool Football Club. As a die-hard red, I've found myself writing about the sport more often than not, and you'll find many of the articles I wrote for The Redmen TV website blog back in their early days showcased on here.

In addition to football, I enjoy writing about a variety of topics, from current events to personal reflections. Writing has been an outlet for me to express myself creatively and explore my beliefs and perspectives. I've also always had a love for films. I've written several short stories that have been adapted into short films. Some of these may not have the greatest production values, but I'm still proud of that I got them made. One of the most significant experiences of my life, albeit short was working on the cruise ships with Royal Caribbean International. It was a unique and exciting adventure that taught me a lot about the world and myself. But life can take unexpected turns, and I eventually found myself in the humdrum 9-5 rat race, feeling unfulfilled.

In 2015, I decided to try my hand at teaching English and so left the UK to embark on a new adventure. Within a few years I'd lived in 9 different places in 4 different countries, gotten married, gotten divorced and then somehow returned to the rat-race, but this time in Portugal which made it so much sweeter.

It's been a challenging experience, but I've learned a lot about resilience, finding the strength to pick yourself up and acceptance of what is. My spiritual journey is another topic that will likely make an appearance on these pages. As a logical person, I eschewed organised religion from an early age, but my experiences with Ayahuasca, Yopo and Bufo Alvarius since 2018 have convinced me that there's an intelligence behind creation.

Through this blog, I hope to create a space where we can engage in meaningful discussions and share our ideas and perspectives, even if we don't always agree. I am open to suggestions and requests for topics to write about, so please don't hesitate to let me know if there's something specific you'd like me to cover.
